Established in 1995, the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Subgroup is the primary bilateral forum for the United States Government (USG) to discuss medical device and pharmaceutical regulatory issues with China.  The Subgroup is comprised of a Pharmaceutical Task Force and a Medical Devices Task Force.  In addition to discussion of trade related issues of interest to U.S. industry, the Subgroup has organized a variety of workshops for China Food and Drug Administration SFDA officials on the U.S. and international regulatory environment relating to medical devices and pharmaceuticals.  The Subgroup last met in Beijing on September 17, 2013.
